Fine Motor Sticker Art

Remember those paper circles that you used to use to reinforce your lined paper with? They make for great art projects!

"I Spy" Jar

Coloured rice and small trinkets make great fun for all ages. Here, we used a small baby food jar, fabric, ribbon, rice and beads using the colour green as our "I Spy" theme. Slowly move the jar around to discover fun trinkets!

Give Thanks (Thanksgiving)

  • Using a paint brush "Paint" white glue on child's hand, press on paper
  • Sprinkle spices (nutmeg, poppy seeds, all spice) and shake off excess
  • Draw beak, wattle and feet with marker
  • We stamped a turkey stamp on the background as well

Pin Wheels

You need:
  • a straw
  • a fastener
  • a piece of square paper
  • scissors
  1. Cut 4 lines starting at the outer corners, leaving a one-inch space in the middle of the square.
  2. Join opposite corners and secure with fastener.

Adorable Caterpillars

  • Wrap 6 pipe cleaners around a pencil to form tight coils, remove from pencil.
  • Fold 1 pipe cleaner in half and feed through each coiled piece.
  • Special note: the 1st coil should be fed through sideways (not through the hole created by the pencil)
  • Bend the remaining pieces to create antenna.

Caterpillar Fun

  • Green & blue construction paper creates a perfect canvas for this piece of artwork.
  • Toilet paper tubes work well to stamp paint circles!
  • We added legs with a marker once dry.
  • We made a sun using foam.
  • Cotton balls for clouds.

Marshmallow Rainbows

  • Glue coloured marshmallows onto construction paper in the shape of a rainbow!
  • You can sort the colours or arrange as pictured depending on child's age/development.

Weaving (Placemats)

  • Cut strips of paper
  • Weave strips in and out of slits
  • Put a dab glue on the ends of the strips to secure 

Homemade Playdough

1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tbsp oil
1 cup water

  • Place cold water in pot, add oil and food colouring
  • Add all other ingredients and cook over medium heat until mixture forms a ball away from the sides of pot (5-15 min)
  • KNEAD PLAY DOUGH on counter for a few minutes
  • Place in air tight container or plastic bag

Shamrock Hat

HOW-TO
  • Cut two strips of green construction paper
  • Glue them together to make the hat
  • Next, cut one big shamrock and four small ones
  • We covered them with glue then green sparkles and glued them onto the hat
  • Finally, we added foam pieces to the shamrocks
